<br />,- <br /> <br />Flood Hazard Study Technical Supplement <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />San Juan River and McCabe Creek <br /> <br />in Vicinity of Pagosa Springs, Colorado <br /> <br />Discription of Study Area <br /> <br />The study area is located in Southwestern Colorado in the vicinity of <br /> <br />Pagosa Springs, Archuleta County, Approximately 10 miles of the San <br /> <br />Juan River and 2 miles of McCabe Creek, a Tributary to the San Juan <br /> <br />River, comprise the study area, see enclosed map. <br /> <br />. Hydrology <br /> <br />Two different methods of determining peak discharge values \1ere used in <br /> <br />the study, steamgage record analysis, and synthetic hydrograph analysis. <br /> <br />These methods apply to the San Juan River segment and McCabe Creek <br /> <br />segment respectively. <br /> <br />There are three streamgages located on the San Juan River \1ith sufficient <br /> <br />record to make satisfactory statistical analysis. These include a gage <br /> <br />at Pagosa Springs, and gages on each of two main forks of the river <br /> <br />above the study area.
