This lap is for use in administering the National Flood Insurance Program;
it doe not necessarily identify all areas subject to flooding, particularly from
local rainage sources of small size, or all planimetric features outside
Specia Flood Hazard Areas.

Coasta base flood elevations apply only landward of 0.0 NGVD, and include
the e f,cts of wave action; these elevations may also differ significantly
from those developed by the National Weather Service for hurricane
evacua ion planning.

Areas f Special Flood Hazard (10o-year flood) include Zones A. AE, AH, AO,
A99, V and VE.

Certai areas not in Special Flood Hazard Areas may be protected by
flood ,ontrol structures.

Bound ries of the floodways were computed at cross sections and
interp ated between cross sections. The floodways were based on
hydrau ic considerations with regard to requirements of the Federal
Emerg ncy Management Agency.

Flood ay widths in some areas may be too narrow to show to scale.
Flood ay widths are provided in the Flood Insurance Study Report.

This ~ap may incorporate approximate boundaries of Coastal Barrier
Resourfe System Units and lor Otherwise Protected Areas established
under the Coastal Barrier Improvement Act of 1990 (PL 101-691).
