c. Hydrologic Procedure
There are three primary methods for. model ing hydrology. Of these,
the stochastic and probabi 1 i sti c methods requi re a certain amount of surface
flo~1 records. The hydrologic data utilized fo)' this study were synthetically
generated, as no significant surface flow records were available.
The method selected was that of the 50il Conservation 5ervice (5C5), as
outlined in the National Engineering Handbook. The method was used as modified
by the Bureau of Reclamation to account for minimum infiltration rates and the
tim, distribution of rainfall.
The 5.C.5. method was selected because of the ready availabil ity of reliable
and complimentary base data also prepared by 5.C.5. in the way of soils
reports and hydrologic parameters.

.

3
