<br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />III-lO <br /> <br />Water Rights <br />Water rights in the South Platte River have a major effect on river flow <br />management. A schematic straight-line diagram showing decreed water rights <br />on the South Platte River from Chatfield Reservoir to Brighton is presented <br />in Figure III-4. <br /> <br />A knowledge of water rights is necessary in water flow forecasting of the <br />South Platte River. Specific water rights are listed in Table III-8 in a <br />downstream order. <br /> <br />Sewage Plant Discharges <br />Wastewater treatment plants in the South Platte River corridor contribute <br />both a river base flow and pollutants. Pollutants need dilution water. <br />The four plants listed in Table III-9 will be increased in capacity over <br />the years as the population grows. It is uncertain whether or not the <br />quality of the effluent will improve in the future, this being dependent <br />upon state and federal water pollution control regulations. <br /> <br />
