<br />I ground water studies have noted that the water table in the La Junta vicinity rose during the early
<br />1980s when the Compact's storage plan resulted in increasing the amount of water stored and the
<br />duration of that storage (Watts and Lindner-Lunsford 1992:51).

<br />Table 2-1 lists the annual peak discharges at USGS stream gaging stations upstream of JMD in
