<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COMPLIANCE WITH CWCB TECHNICAL STANDARDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the approximate riverine floodplain information on said map dated January 1, <br />1986, contained within said new report dated September 2000, meets all of the requirements listed <br />under the Board's "Rules and Regulations for the Designation and Approval of Floodplains and of <br />Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1); and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, 1 OO-year peak discharges witbin Dolores County for the streams listed in Table 1 <br />were developed by the consulting firm of MontgoIllery Watson utilizing the latest available USGS and <br />CWCB regional regression equations as presented in said new report dated September 2000 ; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a procedure for determining hydrology information in Dolores County for <br />approximate floodplains of reservoirs, lakes, ponds, local storm drainage areas, and overflows from <br />irrigation ditches and canals has not been established by the CWCB; and those floodplain areas may <br />not be designated as approximate floodplain information without a procedure for estimating 100- <br />year peak flows, and therefore the local government should require that a detailed hydrologic and <br />hydraulic study be performed by a professional engineer and submitted by the developer or the <br />development proponent prior to any floodplain development in those cases; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, hydraulic determinations for the approximate floodplains listed in Table 1 <br />were prepared by the FIA using approximate hydraulic techniques approved under the Board's <br />"Rules and Regulations for the Designation and Approval of Floodplains and of Storm or <br />Floodwater Runoff Channels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Dolores County should regulate new development and construction in <br />floodplain areas on a case-by-case basis based on the information presented in said new report dated <br />September 2000; and <br /> <br />DESIGNATION AND AFPROV AL ACTION <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board in <br />regular meeting assembled in Canon City, Colorado, this 25th day of September 2000, that it does <br />hereby designate and approve as approximate floodplain information the 100-year floodplain <br />delineations as listed in Table 1 for unincorporated portions of Dolores County contained on said map <br />dated January 1, 1986 and contained within said neW report dated September 2000; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board does hereby designate and approve as <br />approximate floodplain information the 100-year floodplain delineations as listed in Table 2 for <br />unincorporated portions of Dolores County, contained on said map dated January I, 1986 and <br />contained within said new report dated September 2000, provided that the County requires a detailed <br />floodplain analysis to be performed by a registered professional engineer and submitted by the <br />developer prior to approving any new development proposals in those areas; and <br /> <br />3 <br />
