We are pleased that the Corps of Engineers. <br />has solicited our views on the construction activities in the Blue River Channel _ <br />and hl?pe the following infonnatiorl;'~an;shed additional light on this particular <br />case. ...~i/,:,<,~ ','- -:.- f~%ff#/;;ii. -~;:-:~-" ',. : . <br /> <br />The subject property currently being developed is the second filing in Sawmill <br />Station Square, a Planned Unit Development (P.U.D.) approved by the Town of <br />Breckenridge in spring of 1978. The first development in Sawmill Station Square <br />was the new Breckenridge ~~wn Hall, completed in May 1979. Sawmill Station <br />Associates received final approval for development of a 19,OOO square foot office <br />building, a river crossing (open bridge), and surface parking lot on the east <br />side of the Blue River in l~arch1979, however several unique problems were debated <br />by the Town from ApriJ to .June1979... The Town requested the separation between the office complex <br />and Town. ~all be maintained at thirty (30) feet. The pedes- <br />trian-way by the river bank was eliminated and focus was ~ <br />directed to place lighting, landscaping, and pedestrian <br />improvements between the two buildings. <br /> <br />4. Lastly, the architect and civil engineer did not perfonn a <br />new site invE!stigation to establish true horizontal and <br />vertical control data.
