The <br />subregion Ark-6 equation shonld only be used for streams that have 100% of their drainage basins <br />in that subregion. The hydrologic methodology developed in the Guidelines <br />is appropriate for designation and approval of approximate floodplain information and for use in <br />simple floodplain analyses for development such as open space, agriculture, farm bridges, pole <br />bams, and individual residential structures. A procedure for determining hydrology information for <br />approximate floodplains of lakes, ponds, local storm drainage areas, or overflows from irrigation <br />canals and ditches has not been established. <br /> <br />Fremont County should regulate the approximate floodplains on a case-by-<:ase basis. A detailed <br />floodplain analysis must be performed by a professional engineer and submitted by the developer or <br />development proponent for projects involving situations that fall outside the applicability of the <br />Guidelines. An approximate floodplain analysis can be submitted by a developer or development <br />proponent, for the allowable cases, in accordance with the determinations of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board regarding the applicability of the Guidelines. Fremont County may also <br />require, at its discretion, that a detailed floodplain analysis be submitted in lieu of the use of the <br />Guidelines methodology for any situation that it deems necessary. <br /> <br />4 <br />
