damage data on the appropriate reach cards for each reach and input
data year. If, within a reach, several plans have the same stage
flow or damage relationship, the data set need only be input for the
first plan and it will be used for all subsequent plans until a data
set is input for another plan. Also, one plan may be made equivalent
to another within a reach (RV card).

8. INPUT DATA YEARS

Stage, flow, or damage data can be input, and expected annual damage
computed for historic years, a study year, a base year, and future years--
up to a total of nine different years. These years are termed input data
years and are shown in the diagram below. Expected annual damage computed
from these data is assumed to occur at the end of the respective year.

. t t t
L_.l_l_l_
~ Study Base
Historic Year Year
Years
(Up to 3)

Future
Year

Future
Year

Future
Year

~

Input Data Years
f\l.pto 9 maybe used)

The purpose of inputting data for several different years is to accommodate
changes in hydrologic, hydraulic and economic data which occur over time.
For example, it may be desired to compute expected annual damage for
historic years with non urban land use and channel conditions, or for future
years with urban land use or channel conditions. The years selected are
identified on the DY card. For each reach only those input data years
desired need be selected from those identified on the DY card. For each
reach the frequency array applies to all input data years (FR card). When
the data are available for an input data year it should be input, if it is
the same for all input years, one set of data can be input and it will be
used for all other input data years for that reach and plan.

Within a reach stage, flow, frequency or damage data may be modified for
an input data year and plan (RV card).
