<br />WHEREAS,' a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
<br />Hazard AreaJ)elinE:;!ation, Happy Canyon Creek, Badger Gulch, Newlin,'
<br />Gulch, Baldwin Gulch, Sulphur Gulch, and Tallman Gulch, "dated
<br />November,' 1977, has been prepCired by Howard, Needles, Tammen &
<br />Bergeridoff at tlierequest of the 'Urban Drainage and Flood Control,,'
<br />District, Douglas County , and Arapahoe county; and

<br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the
<br />data and information for the ~torm and floodwater runoff
<br />basins of ',., study area; and
<br />

<br />WHEREAS, the Urban I:lrainage and, Flood control District: has
<br />requested the ColOradO Water Conservation Board to designate and,
<br />approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report;

<br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), ColoradO Revised Statutes
<br />,1973, requires the ColoradO Water conservation Board to assist in '"
<br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefromi and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS" Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado
<br />,Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of" .-
<br />local jurisdictio ns may provide zoning regulations for land uses .'
