<br />The proposed measures for improvement include rook <br />riprap, anchored trees, rock jetties, jacks, vegetated <br />buffer strips, vegetative sprig revetment, and riparian <br />zones. Vegetative practices would require the contaminated <br />streambanks to be cleaned and topsoi led so that plants would <br />grow. <br /> <br /> <br />KERBER CREEK - saquache County, Colorado. It flows <br />through old mi II tai I ings, ponds, pi les (bui It across Kerber <br />Creek during the mining days,> pastureland, and haylands. <br />The water qua I i ty of Ke rbe r Creek, in the study area, is <br />very poor primari ly due to acid water draining from the <br />Rawley Mine and mine tai I ings along the creek. The study <br />area consists of 4 sites for a total of 15,800 feet (3 <br />mil es) of stream.
