Duane L. Rehborg
~lanning Department
Rio Blanco County
Box 599
Meeker, Colorado 81641

Re: Proposed \oIillOl'1 Bend
Hobile Home Park

Dear Hr. Rehborg:

Pursuant to your request, ,,,e have revieIVed the above referenced
site for the flood hazard. The revised limits of the 100-year flood
have recently been determined for this reach in accordance with
criteria established in my letter of August 16, 1977, to the Rio
Blanco County Planning Department. A hundred year peak discharge
of 6,500 cfs was used in the analysis pursuant to a Rio Blanco
County Planning COIT~ission resolution adopted November 17, 1977.

For purposes of publishing a revised floodplain information
report and flooded area maps of the \oIhite River at Neeker, this
Board was requested by the Rio Blanco County Planning Commission to
distinguish bet\\'een a 1m\' hazard flooded area and a high hazard fl ooded
area.

It was suggested and agreed that a low hazard area would be
defined as those flooded areas of the 100-year flood having a depth
of less than 1,5 feet and a flow velocity of less than 3.0 feet per
second. A high hazard area was defined as an area flooded by the
100-year flood which will have a depth of at least 1.5 feet or a
flOl\' velocity of at least 3.0 feet per second.

Our findings for this proposed development have been shOloJn
directly on the enclosed plat and on the attached \\'ater:\1rface pro-
file. The 100-year flood water surface elevation;;;' \-:; i ,'ry from
approximately 6137.5 feet above mean sea level at. Llw east (or
upstream) property line (station 69+90) to approximately 6131.7 feet
at the west (or dOloJnstream) property line (station 40+30). In general,
the 100-year flood will result in flooded area depths of up to 2.0
