<br />SPRING CREEK TRIBUTARY <br />HYDROLCGY REPORT <br /> <br />TO\VN OF NUNN F.I,S. <br /> <br />PURPOSE <br /> <br />This report was prepared to document the procedures and methods <br /> <br /> <br />used in the computation of flood discharges for Spring Creek <br /> <br /> <br />Tributary within the Town of Nunn, Colorado. This hydrologic <br /> <br /> <br />report was completed as a part of the Town of Nunn Flood In- <br /> <br /> <br />surance Study for the Federal Insurance Administration, per- <br /> <br /> <br />suant to the requirements of BUD Contract H-4017 and for re- <br /> <br /> <br />view by the Colorado \Vater Conservation Board, <br /> <br />BASIN DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />Spring Creek Tributary is an intermi t:t.ent stream, \-Thich flows <br />north to south in a long, narrow basin to its confluence with <br />Spring Creek at Pierce, Colorado. Spring Creek Tributary drain- <br />age basin is located in \Veld County, Colorado between Nunn and <br />Carr, paralleling U. S. Topography in this basin is that of <br />gently rolling hills, with basin slopes varying from I to 4 <br />per cent. <br /> <br />"*" <br /> <br />According to the Soil Conserv,,,tion Service (ScsI land use maps <br />(Ref. 3). the land use for Spring Creek Tributary is non-irri- <br />gated croplands and pastures. Field inspections of the area <br />indicated that wheat is the major crop. Natural grasses and <br />sage brush are generally the ground cover for the pasture <br />lands.
