All case histories are taken from Brice and Blodgett (1978), Brice <br />et al. (1984), and Brown et al. (1980). Site data are from Brice and Blodgett (1978). This <br />compilation of case histories at 224 bridge sites is recommended reference material for <br />those responsible for selecting countermeasures for scour and stream instability. Additional <br />case histories are given in Highways in the River Environment (HIRE) (1990). <br /> <br />13 <br />
