WHEREAS, a floodplain information report enti~led "Special
Flood Hazard Information, South Platte River, Volume I, Weld County,
'-;"'>L colorado," dated April, 1977, has been prepared by the Vnited States
'. Army Corps of Sngineers, Omaha Dist;dct, at the request of Weld County
and Colorado Water Conservation Boa~d; and

, .

WHEREAS, said report desc~ibes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the stOrm ~nd floodwater runoff channels or
basins of the study area; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Cou~ty Commissioners of Weld County
has requested the Colorado Water Co~servation Board to designate and
approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the.aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-10~(l), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973,
required the colorado Water Conserv~tion Board to assist in the pre-
vention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111,' Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, provide that such leqislative bodies of local juris-
dictions may provide zoning regulations for land'uses'on or along any
storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation,
and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes
.1973, directs the Colorado Water COI1servation Board to designate and
approve storm or floodwater runoff ~hannels or basins and to make such
designations available to legislati~e bodies of local jurisdictions;
and

WHEREAS,-th~starr()f the Board has reviewed said report and
does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water conservation Board that the
Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated
by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the
floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in said report;
