Basin V

Installing a main trunk line starting at 8th Street in La Due
Avenue to 12th Street, and then in 12th Street to the Westside
ditch will increase the capacity of the present system that will
tie into the new line and relieve the flooding. The result will
be separate sanitary and storm sewer systems.

System Improvements
Pipe Pipe
Size Length
From To (inches) (feet)
8th Street 10th Street (in La Due Ave.) 24 800
10th Street 12th Street (in La Due Ave.) 30 800
12th Street Westside ditch (in 12th St.) 36 1,400

Another problem area is around 14th Street and Hunt, where the
existing system is ineffective. Depending on the alternative
chosen in Basin IV, a pipe to the main trunk line in 13th Street
or a pipe which would outlet into the Hickory-Jackson ditch is
proposed. For overflow in this area, a swale leading to Hickory-
Jackson ditch is recommended to relieve local flooding and system
overloading. A similar problem exists in Bell Avenue between
12th Avenue and the Hickory-Jackson ditch.

System Improvements
Pipe Pipe
Size Length
From To (inches) (feet)
12th Street 13th Street (in Hunt Ave.) 30 250
2 Type "R" inlets
12th Street 14th Street (in Bell Ave.) 30 500

-41-
