pipes installed in the future as conditions change.

The next downstream stage would be a 36-inch diameter out-
let pipe at the lower end of this pond. The pipe will ex-
tend 600 feet to the first lateral, which will be located
in the same place as Alternative 1. A 42-inch and 4B-inch
diameter pipe will continue from this point in 6th Street
to the Rio Grande River. Additional laterals will be lo-
cated as in Alternative 1, in West Avenue, Ross Avenue, and
State Avenue.

This first stage development provides relief of flooding
around the Alamosa Inn and, at the same time, relieves the
old system on Main Street so the upper ends are not over-
loaded. Larger inlets are needed around the Alamosa Inn
and the street in this area.
