BASINS I THROUGH VIII <br /> <br />The following paragraphs summarize the drainage problems in each of <br />the designated basins. <br /> <br />Basin 1 <br /> <br />1) Ponding at the Alamosa Inn, Blanca Avenue, and U.S. Highway <br />160/285. <br /> <br />2) Ponding at Alamosa Community Hospital, 2nd Street, and <br />Crestone Avenue. <br /> <br />3) Localized ponding throughQut developed portions of the <br />basin. <br /> <br />4) Ponding near new construction -- K-Mart and City Market, <br />Market Street and U.S. Highway 160/285. <br /> <br />5) Flooding along Main Street from Edgemont to West Avenue. <br /> <br />6) Ponding on 6th Street west of West Avenue. <br /> <br />Basin II <br /> <br />1) Ponding at triangle area of Wolf Street, Oliver Avenue, <br />and Clark Street. <br /> <br />2) Backflow from Rio Grande River in storm sewer north of <br />Carrol Street near Douglas Drive. <br /> <br />3) Ponding behind levee at Rio Grande River. <br /> <br />4) Localized ponding areas. <br /> <br />Basin III <br /> <br />1) Localized ponding areas. <br /> <br />2) Deterioration of streets, curb, and gutter due to ponding. <br /> <br />3) Flooding along Main Street. <br /> <br />4) Localized ponding near Main Street on State Avenue. <br /> <br />-23- <br />
