Detailed mapping of this
part of Basin VI is not available.

H. BASIN VII

Basin VII is in the south-central portion of the study area, extend-
ing south beyond the airport. It is bounded by U.S. 285 on the west,
Wests ide irrigation ditch on the east, and the Hickory-Jackson ditch
on the north.

The total drainage of Basin VII is approximately 3.5 square miles,
most of which is undeveloped. Some scattered residential and commer-
cial sites do exist, although the predominate feature is the airport
with a parking area, taxiways, and runways.

Basin VII has no major drainage pattern because it is composed of
smaller sub-basins that either do not drain or tend to drain to the
south and southeast. The Westside ditch interrupts the sub-basin
drainage pattern; but due to the lack of development, localized pond-
ing areas are not noticed. Where development has occurred in low
areas, ponding does exist. The area between 17th and 20th Streets
(east of State Avenue) has also experienced localized ponding. Waters
are trapped by the elevated airport runways; but since there is no
large concentration of flow, no threat exists that the runway would
be inundated by stormwater runoff.

I. BASIN VIII

Basin VIII is located in the north-central portion of the study area.
It is bounded on the south and west by the river, on the north by
Sixmile Road, and on the east by State Highway 17.

The total drainage of Basin VIII is approximately 0.9 square miles,
most of which is undeveloped. The basin includes a golf course. A

-21-
