Considerations are given to the hydrological aspects, economic
analysis, existing and proposed land use, open space benefits, legal requirements,_ ond
environmental impact. These studies are coordinated by UD&FCD, and are conducted
in cooperation with other municipalities withil"' tl.e respective drainage basinso

Our clients for services in the area of storm drainage ond flood control have
included in addition to UD&FCD; Cities of Northglenn, Thornton, Federal Heights,
ond Aurora; Adams cnd Arapohoe Countieso

The scope of ECl's services has included major drainageway planning, pre-
liminary engineering designs, final engineering designs, bid documents and analysis,
ond supervision of construction workso

Eel is utilizing modern electronic computer equipment located in its Denver
office to increase the accuracy of its engineering design and feasibility sutdies, resulting
in superior designs and reducing over-all project cost to the client. Various computer
programs related to the field of storm runoff and flood control have been developed for
use with our computer and are utilized in our various sutdieso Examples of these programs
include: Storm runoff hydrogroph, flood routing through a reservoir, internol rate of
return, flood hydrograph package (HEC -1) and water surfoce profil es (HEC -2) (originally
developed by U.S 0 Army Corps of Engineers), plotting of channel cross sections and
water surfoce profiles, computation of spillway dischorge, stability analysis of an earth
embankment, earthwork computotions, double mass curve onalysis, frequency analysis and
rainfall-runoff correlations. Typical output samples from some of these programs are
enclosed in this brochure. ,.

~
