<br />River, Volume, I, Weld County, Colorado - Prepared for
<br />Weld County and Colorado Water Conservation Board by
<br />the Department of the Army, Omaha District, Corps of
<br />Engineers, April, 1977.

<br />Dear Mr. Lang:
<br />
<br />The Board of Weld County Commissioners requests that the Colorado
<br />Water Conservation Board take action to deSignate and approve the
<br />South Platte River and its 100 year floodplain as delineated in
<br />the above subject report as hazardous.
<br />
<br />In order 'that Weld County,may have the option to regulate" the,
<br />delineated flood plain area to lessen or avoid the hazards to
<br />persons and damage to property, it is first necessary, according
<br />to Titl,e 30-28-111 CRS 1973, as amended; that your agency,desig-
<br />nate and approve the subject flood plain. ,In that the subject
<br />flood'plai~ area has been delineated by an engineering agency
<br />recognized as competent to' do so,' we hearti,ly rec'ommend that the
<br />Colorado Water Conservation Board take action to designate and
<br />approve appropriate portions of the flood plain as hazardous.
