A coordinated system of signs, both on the bike trail
and in parks, as well as along the river should exist. The river signs
are important from a safety aspect, advising boaters of upcoming white-
water, boat chutes, portages, etc.

Boat Obstacles. Drop structures and check dams should be improved or
notched, with portages before each chute, to permit scouting to occur
prior to running the chute.

Regional Recreational Plans. South platte River parks and recreation
development plans, gravel mine operations and permits, and river cor-
ridor development should be fully coordinated with regional recrea-
tional plans of the various governmental entities, or groups of en-
tities.

Flood Hydrology. All planning and design for the South Platte River
shall be compatible and in accordance with the design floods given.

Low Flow Hydrology. Average monthly low flows in the South Platte
River, based on a dry year analysis must be considered for near term
planning and design purposes.
