INTERPRETATION OF DATA

FLooded area maps, profiles, and selected cross sections
are provided in the report to define the limits of flooding that
wo~ld occur d~ring an Intermediate Regional Flood or Standard Project
Flood. Hypothetical e><a<nples of these presentations, depicting the
areal limits and elevations of the respective future floods at an
imaginary location, are shown on the follo~ing page.
The lateral limits of flooding from the Intermediate
Regional Flood (IRF) are showr.by the blue-shaded area, crossing this
area, the wavy IRF elevation lines represent water surface contours
at 5-foot intervals, and the solid blue area indicates the additional
area that would be inundated by the Standard Project Flood (SPF).
The flood profile shows the relative depth of floodwaters along the
centerline of the stream. The =OS5 section e"ample indicates the
depth ~nd lateral extent of flooding that would OCCur at th~ speci-
fied cross section: other information on flood flow depth$ at the

location of the cross section is ~hulated below. Similar data can
be developed forally'flood plain location in the stndyreach COn-
sidered in this repOrt.
