The moist air masses for these mid and <br />summer thunderstorms must pass over several ranges before reaching the <br />Gore Range. The route followed by the air ,mass from the Gulf is through <br />Texas and New Mexico thence northward into the Central Rockies. <br />During early fall (September and early October), there'are occasional <br />general rainstorms caused by dying major Pacific storms. These warm air <br />masses, heavily loaded with moisture, move in from the San Diego area, <br />passing through California, across Arizona and into southwestern Colorado. <br />
