VEGETAL COVER <br /> <br />The vegetal cover aspects of the basin and sub-basins have been <br />derived from the U.S.G.S. Quad maps and material supplied through <br />INSTAAR which was obtained from high altitude aircraft photo work of <br />both color infrared and standard black and white imagery. The INSTAAR <br />vegetation mapping categories included the following nine major classi- <br />fications: <br /> <br />Forested <br /> <br />Deciduous <br /> <br />Coniferous <br /> <br />Mixed Coniferous (3 or <br />more speci es) <br /> <br />Coniferous-Deciduous <br /> <br />Krummholz <br /> <br />There were seventeen sub-category classifications under the nine <br /> <br />major classifications. <br /> <br />The forested areas and non-forested areas were delineated and <br /> <br />totaled for each sub-basin and are shown on Table I-I. <br /> <br />Non-Forested <br />Flood Plain <br />Meadow (subalpine/Montane) <br />Tundra <br /> <br />Shrub <br />
