<br />FPR 96-414 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />March 13, 1996 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency completed a floodplain <br />information map entitled "Flood Insurance Rate Map, Town of Ramah, Colorado, El Paso <br />County", dated February4, 1988; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said map includes approximate floodplain delineations for Big Sandy Creek <br />and Unnamed Tributary to Big Sandy Creek within the corporate limits of the Town of Ramah <br />as of February 4,1988 but does not include hydrology information for Unnamed Tributary to Big <br />Sandy Creek; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board has not designated and approved <br />said map; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new floodplain information report entitled "Floodplain Information Report, <br />Town of Ramah, Colorado, El Paso County", d2,ted February 8, 1996 has been prepared by the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report for the Town of Ramah includes approximate floodplain <br />information for Big Sandy Creek and Unnamed Tributary to Big Sandy Creek within the <br />corporate limits of the Town of Ramah as of February 4, 1988; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report incorporates the floodplain delineations of the Flood Hazard <br />Boundary Map dated February 4, 1988; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the hydrology for Big sandy Creek has been estimated in accordance with <br />the Guidelines/or Determining lOO-Year Flood Flows/or Approximate Floodplains; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the I DO-year flow for Big Sandy Creek is estimated by utilizing the <br />regression equation for Arkansas River Basin Subregion Ark-I, QlOO= 1,564.98 * Ao.539, where <br />QIOO is the 100-year peak flow in cubic feet per second and A is the upstream (contributing) <br />drainage area in square miles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the drainage basin for that portion of Unnamed Tributary to Big Sandy Creek <br />which extends upstream from its confluence with Big Sandy Creek is less than 25 square miles <br />but larger than one-half (0.5) square mile; and <br />
