Then <br />they may be sent directly to the nlost conven- <br />ient Geological Survey computer center. <br /> <br />Request that cards be punched and verified. <br />Verification will usually eliminate keypunch <br />errors and will reduce the number of costly <br />reruns and erroneous answers. <br /> <br />Specifications for job control cards have <br />been frequently changed in the past and have <br />varied among the Computer Center Division <br />terminals. Therefore, information on job <br />control cards should be obtained from the hy- <br />draulic specialist or from the nearest com- <br />puter center. <br /> <br />All requests for processing of computations <br />should include the following: <br /> <br />(a) User registration code assigned by <br />Computer Center Division. <br /> <br />(b) Account number to be charged. <br /> <br />(c) Estimated execution time in minutes. <br />Estimate the time for 1-25 "culverts as 2 min- <br />utes, 26-50 culverts as 3 minutes. <br /> <br />(d) Estimated lines of printout, in thou- <br />sands of lines. Estimate lines at) 200 times <br />the number of" culverts.. <br /> <br />(e) Userls name and mailing address. <br /> <br />(f) Program number A526. <br /> <br />COMPUTATION <br /> <br />Card Deck <br /> <br />The data on form 9-1695 will be punched <br />on cards just as they are entered on the form. <br />The keypunch operator is in no position to de- <br />cide whether or not the data submitted are <br />correcf. <br /> <br />Printout <br /> <br />There are four sections of printout: U) <br />the input data as punched on the cards, (2) <br />approach- section properties, (3) barrel- <br />section properties, and (4) output data asso- <br />~iated wjth the stage-discharge relation. <br />See the example on page 16 for details. <br /> <br />The values of C in the printout are those <br />tabulated on the input form after adjustment <br />for all pertinent conditions, such as by k , <br />r <br />k , and k . but not for the degree of <br />W f.l <br />
