O(},\ <br />J" (r",11\ <br /> <br />Local Drainage at Denveu <br /> <br />Severe thunderstorms along the front range in an area <br />extending from Castle Rock north to Greely caused flooding <br />at many intersections in Denver. Flooded intersections <br />included E. Colfax and Peoria Streets, Tower and Chamber <br />Roads; S. Buckley Roads. and E. Dartmouth Avenue.; E. <br />13th ave. and Potomac; 1-25 and E. Evans; and E. <br />Hampton avenue. All street flooding appeared to have <br />been caused by poor st~water drainage facilities. <br /> <br />Sources: Denver pos9/ 30 / 90 <br /> <br />Brush Creek at Bl'Ush <br /> <br />Rains dropped 4,25 inches of water in less than 24 hours. <br />Initial damage was estimated at $100,000 however this <br />estimate did not include basements that were flooded with <br />3 to 5 feet of water. <br /> <br />Source: Denver Post) 8 / 07 /90 <br /> <br />Black Tiger Gulch in Boulder County <br /> <br />G:~nches of rain fell in 2 hours causing Black Tiger Gulch, <br />'-a~;ibutary of Boulder Creek, to flood. Rocks, silt, fire <br />debris from last years forest fire and 6 inches of water <br />covered a 45 foot span of Highway 119 leading to <br />Nederland. Witnesses report that flooding of this area has <br />been continuous since the 1989 Black Tiger Fire that left <br />areas of the watershed bare of vegetation. <br /> <br />Sources: David M.
