<br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />..; <br /> <br />SYLLABUS <br /> <br />The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate flood <br />problems on the Colorado River at the Riverside and Rosevale <br />communities of Grand Junction, Colorado, to determine if an <br />economically and environmentally sound plan could be developed to <br />reduce flood damages. Alternatives included levee/floodwall <br />combinations, elevating all structures above the lOa-year flood <br />elevation, and purchasing all structures within the laO-year <br />flood plain. The damage analysis showed that the Riverside and <br />Rosevale communities are subject to significant flood damages. <br />However, none of the alternatives was economically feasible <br />(benefit-cost ratio ranged from 0.3 to 0.7). No further studies <br />are recommended at this time. <br />
