<br />FPR 97-520 <br />City of Sterling <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSER V A TION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Shennan Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />July 24, 2000 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) previously designated and <br />approved 100-year detailed floodplain infonnation for the City of Sterling (at the January 1998 <br />Board meeting) contained in a report entitled "South Point Subdivision, Flood Impact Study, <br />Pawnee Creek Overflows" dated November 23, 1997; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report revised floodplain information for the Pawnee Creek overflow <br />within the City of Sterling that was previously designated in resolution number 97-456 for a report <br />entitled "City of Sterling, Floodplain Analysis, Pawnee Creek Overflow" dated February 3, 1997; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CWCB staff erroneously assigned resolution number 97-469 to said floodplain <br />information report dated November 23,1997; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the correct resolution number for said floodplain information report dated <br />November 23, 1997 for the City of Sterling is 97-520 in lieu of97-469; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies oflocal jurisdictions; and <br />
