Box 2051 Madison, Wisconsin 53701-2051 (608) 266-1926 <br /> <br />Dear Sir: <br /> <br />, <br />\ , <br /> <br />The Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), in cooperation <br />with the Federal ~Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), is conducting a <br />survey of county ~nd municipal governments to assess current and <br />planned use of Geographic Information Systems at the local level. <br />The objective of this survey is to identify communities that have <br />the potential to utilize digital flood hazard mapping. <br /> <br />The attached questionnaire is brief, and intended to require minimal <br />effort to complete. A completed questionnaire is also enclosed as a <br />guide to assist you in filling out the form. Detailed information <br />is not required ih your responses to questions. General answers, <br />such as those on the example, will allow initial identification of <br />communities for which digital flood hazard mapping is a possibility. <br />These communities may be contacted again at a later date to provide <br />more in-depth information on their digital mapping capabilities. <br /> <br />Any assistance you can provide to use in this effort will be greatly <br />appreciated.
