Box 1190
Fort Collins, Colorado 80522-1190

Community: Larimer County, Colorado
Community No.: 080101
Panel Affected: 0179 D
Effective Date of
This Revision: J U L 15 1996

102-I-C

Dear Mr. Clarke:

This responds to a request for a revision to the effective Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and National Flood
Insurance Program (NFIP) map for your community. Specifically, this responds to a letter dated
May 22, 1996, from Mr. Ed Woodward, CRS Coordinator, Engineering Department, Larimer County,
regarding the effective Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for the unincorporated areas of Larimer County,
Colorado. Mr. Woodward requested that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revise the
effective FIRM to correct the floodplain boundary delineation along the west overbank of Dry Creek from
Lincoln Avenue to approximately 6,200 feet upstream of Lincoln Avenue.

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with Mr . Woodward's May 22 letter.
Because this Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) corrects a mapping error, fees were not assessed for the review.

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM, and
have revised the FIRM to modify the floodplain boundary delineations of a flood having a I-percent chance
of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood) along the west overbank of Dry Creek from
Lincoln Avenue to approximately 6,200 feet upstream of Lincoln Avenue,

The floodplain boundary delineation was revised to correct a mapping error that occurred during processing
of the effective FIRM, dated March 18, 1996. This LOMR corrects the delineation to match the floodplain
developed by Gingery and Associates as shown in the report entitled "Major Drainageway Planning, Dry
Creek, Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado," dated April 1980, the source of floodplain data for Dry
Creek. As a result of this revision, the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), the area inundated by the base
flood, increased compared to the SFHA shown on the effective FIRM, with a maximum increase of
approximately 2,600 feet occurring adjacent to Lincoln Avenue. There are no changes to the base flood
elevations or floodway along this reach of Dry Creek.

The modification is shown on the enclosed annotated copy of FIRM Panel 0179 D. This LOMR hereby
revises this panel of the effective FIRM dated March 18, 1996.

The revisions are effective as of the date of this letter; however, a review of the determination made by this
LOMR and any requests to alter this determination should be made within 30 days. Any request to alter the
determination must be based on scientific or technical data.
