FHFs, flood insurance zones, and base flood <br />elevations for each flooding source studied in detail in the <br />commun ity, <br /> <br />5.4 Flood Insurance Rate Map Description <br /> <br />The Flood Insurance Rate Map for the City of Loveland is, for <br />insurance purposes, the principal result of the Flood Insurance <br />Study. Thi s ma p (pub 1 i shed separa te ly) conta ins the offi cia 1 <br />delineation of flood insurance zones and base flood elevation <br />lines, Base flood elevation lines show the locations of the <br />expected whole-foot water-surface elevations of the base (lOD-year) <br />flood. This map is developed in accordance with the latest flood <br />insurance map preparation guidelines published by FEMA. <br /> <br />6,0 OTHER S~UD:ES <br /> <br />The Flood Insurance Study of Larimer County (Reference 10) is the only <br />study adjacent to the Loveland area, The Larimer County study was <br />completed using 1976 survey data and topographic mapping and therefore <br />does not agree with this study for the City of Loveland. <br /> <br />The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers published a FlOOd Plain Information <br />report in December 1971 (Reference 2). The Corps study does not reflect <br />current flood-plain conditions'and has been superseded by later studies. <br /> <br />The Federa 1 I nsu rance Admi ni stra ti on previous ly p,ub 1 i shed a Flood <br />Hazara Boundary Map for the City of Loveland which was used in this study <br /> <br />12 <br />
