This area is generally bounded on the east by

Detroit Street, on the south by 8th Avenue, on the west by

the County Road (West line of Section 22, Township 2 North,

Range 48 West). The area is bounded on the north by the

Burlington Northern Railroad.

The present storm sewage collection system within the Yuma

Lake area is not adequate to handle any significant runoff.

The existing streets and the 12 inch storm sewers presently

serving the major portion of Main Street and extending into

Birch and Ash Streets are inadequate resulting in water stand-

ing in the major streets from curb to curb and moving into

floors of some of the commercial buildings downtown as a

result of a 1/2 inch rainfall. The area around Yuma Lake is

entirely inundated during a minor storm. The area consists

of approximately 476 acres.

2. YUMA NORTH AREA (AREA NO.2)

The next major area considered for drainage is the Yuma

North area which is that area bounded on the south by the

Burlington Northern Railroad and general cross country line

beginning at West Hoague and the County Road and crossing

the Fairgrounds to the intersection of Gum and West Beatty

2
