Kirkmeyer
Chairperson, Weld County Board
of Commissioners
P.O. Box 758
Greeley, CO 80632-0758

Community: Weld County, CO
Community No.: 080266
Panel Affected: 0605 D
Effective Date of JAN 2 ~2001
This Revision:

102-I-A-C

Dear Ms. Kirkmeyer:

This responds to a request that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revise the effective
Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report for your community in
accordance with Part 65 of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations. In a letter dated
May 19, 2000, Ms. Mary B. Wohnrade, P.E., Project Manager, Northern Engineering Services, Inc.,
requested that FEMA revise the FIRM and FIS report to show the effects of more detailed topographic
information and placement of fill along the northern side of the Cache La Poudre River in association
with the Westwood Village Second Filing development from approximately 3,800 feet downstream to
approximately 1,400 feet upstream of Whitney Ditch Diversion.

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from Ms. Wohnrade.

We have completed our review ofthe submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM
and FIS report. We have revised the FIRM and FIS report to modify the elevations and floodplain
boundary delineations of the flood having a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given
year (base flood) along the Cache La Poudre River. As a result of the modifications, the Base Flood
Elevations (BFEs) for the Cache La Poudre River decreased, and the width of the Special Flood Hazard
Area (SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the base flood, increased in some areas and decreased
in other areas. The width of the regulatory floodway did not change. The modifications are shown on
the enclosed annotated copies of FIRM Panel 0605 D, Profile Panels 62P and 63P, and affected portions
of the Floodway Data Table, This Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) hereby revises the above-referenced
panel of the effective FIRM dated September 27, 1991, and the affected portions of the FIS report dated
September 22, 1999.

Because this revision request also affects the Town of Windsor, a separate LOMR for that community
was issued on the same date as this LOMR.
