<br />WHEREAS, 'a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
<br />Insurance Study, Garfield County, Colorado," which includes the
<br />Roaring Fork River, the Colorado River, and Cattle Creek, with an
<br />effective date of December 15, 1977, has been prepared by the United
<br />states Army Corps of Engineers. Sacramento District, under contract
<br />with the Federal Insurance Administration; and

<br />, , WHEREAS.' said report describes and outlines the flciodplain
<br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels
<br />or basins of ,the study area; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS. Garfield County has requested the Colorado Water
<br />conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as
<br />set forth in the aforesaid,report; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS. Section 37-60-106(1). Colorado Revised Statutes
<br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
<br />the prevention of floods and, flood damages therefrom; and
<br />

<br />WHEREAS. Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
<br />Statutes 1973. provide that such legislative bodies of local juris-
<br />dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any
<br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation.
<br />and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes
<br />'1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
<br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make
<br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdic-
<br />tions; and

<br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board
<br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas
<br />inundated by a 100-yearflood (intermediate regional flood) as
<br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in said
<br />report; ','
