SWAED-P
Mr. Larry F. Lang

22 May 1973

(4) Floodway velocities increase an average of over 15 percent from
existing conditions. Velocities average 11.8 feet per second in a range
varying from 6.7 to 15.5 feet per second. Special consideration would
have to be given to flood proofing measures within the flood plain regarding
high velocities. Inclosure 6 is a pertinent data table showing velocities
and water surface elevations for natural (existing) conditions and for the
200 I floodway.

Possible consideration could be given to the portion of the floodway shown
on inclosure 1 which would permit development in the floodway fringe area
for this reach of stream.

In order to help your technical evaluation within this area we are inclosing
an earlier copy of an evaluation made for HUD dated 8 June 1968.

If we may be of further service, please do not hesitate to call on us.

Sincerely yours,

7 Incl
As stated

j~f{tt,~

.
