We suggest that the
Flood Plain Study and Master Drainage Plan of the Town, dated January 1987, be used
for this study.

In 1985, F.E.M.A. rescinded the Flood Hazard BOlUlllary Map and made a determination
that there are no areas in Haxtun that are subject to the 100-year flood plain.

We request that the C. W.C.B. review both the original flood plain map and the Flood Plain
Study and Master Drainage Plan for possible designation of areas that should be approved
by the C.W.C.B's regular board. We would also request that C.W.C.B. staff review this
project in the field to discuss with the town staff as to what may and what may not be
reprl:8entative<:real> that should be considered t6 be ,flood plain hazards by the Colorado
Water Conservation Board.

Please call George Michae~ Town Superintendent, at 970-774-6104, if you have any
questions.

Sincerely,

~~~ 117tlk~
Sharon Gay McDaniel;
Mayor, Town ofHaxtun.
RECEIVED
FEB 2 " 1999
Colorado Water
conservation Board
