In many instances the outerl imits of the 100-

and DO-year floods will appear as one line on the maps. This is due

to e topographic relief and slight difference in elevation between the

two lood events. Maps, drawings, and other technical data labeled

Exis ing Conditions are valid as of July 1974.

The Mosaic Sheet Index is useful in respect to location of the

vari us flood hazard exhibits in the study area. Technical studies were

cond cted on 7 reach lengths. The locations of the study reaches and

phot map designations are illustrated on the Mosaic Sheet Index.

Wate Surface Profiles

In addition to the 100- and 500-year frequency floods, hydraulic

stud s were made on the 10-, 25-, and 50-year events. Information

rega ing these smaller floods is especially usef~1 for engineering

desi purposes related to roads, storm sewers, channels, and appur-

tena structures. Water surface profiles for the various frequency

floo are included in this report as Exhibit A. Because of the close

proxi ity to either the 25- or 100-year event, the 50-year line was not

draf d on the water surface profiles. For information regarding flood

line levations at a specific location, the water surface profile data

can b used in conjunction with the flood hazard photomaps. The cross-

secti n locations which appear on both the profiles and maps can be used
