Spaccamonti, Director <br />Department of Planning and Development <br />Pueblo County Courthouse <br />10th & Main Streets <br />Pueblo, CO 81003 <br /> <br />Re: Town of Boone Flood Hazard Area Regulations <br /> <br />Dear Jim: <br /> <br />Please find enclosed a letter from Mr. Richard Sanderson of the Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to Boone's Mayor Wyant, dated April 22, <br />1983, advising of the approval of the Town of Boone's application to the <br />National Flood Insurance Program. <br /> <br />It is our understanding <br />Development Permits per <br />and the Town of Boone. <br /> <br />that your office will administer the Flood Hazard Area <br />intergovernmental agreement between the County of Pueblo <br />We sent you Boone's adopted ordinance on April 12, 1983. <br /> <br />Please note the final paragraph on page 1 of Mr. Sanderson's letter. It <br />advises deletion of the term "habitable" and the definition for "habitable <br />floor." The term "lowest floor (including basement)" is suggested for inclusion. <br />The Hazard Area Regulations of the City of Pueblo and the County of Pueblo also <br />contain the terms "habitable" and "habitable floor." I spoke with Mr. Fred <br />Metzer of FEMA on May 16, 1983, and he advised me that the changes are recommenda- <br />tions--not requirements. <br /> <br />Due to the fiscal burden that publishing ordinance notices places on Boone's <br />budget, we will recommend to the Town of Boone that it not amend its ordinance <br />at this time.
