Federal Emergency Management Agency
Washington, D.C. 20172

CERTIFIED MAIL
RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED

IN REPLY REFER TO:
Case No.: 97-08-390P

The Honorable Polly Page
Chairperson, Arapahoe County
Board of Commissioners
5334 South Prince Street
Littleton, Colorado 80166

Community: Arapahoe County, Colorado
Community No.: 080011
Panel Affected: 08005C0435 J
Effective Date of FE B 1 8 1998
This Revision:

102-I-A-C

Dear Ms. Page:

This responds to a request that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revise the effective
Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report for Arapahoe County, Colorado
and Incorporated Areas (the effective FIRM and FIS report for your community), in accordance with
Part 65 of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations. In a letter dated August 21,1997,
Ms. Cindy Love, Love & Associates, Inc., requested that FEMA revise the FIRM and FIS report to show
the effects of a channel modification project along SICD 6100 from approximately 1,650 feet downstream
to approximately 50 feet downstream of Platte Canyon Road.

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from Mr. Robert
Christensen, P.E., Project Engineer, P. R. Fletcher & Associates, Inc., and Ms. Love.

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM and
FIS report. We have revised the FIRM and FIS report to modify the elevations and floodplain boundary
delineations of the flood having a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base
flood) along SJCD 6100. As a result of the modifications, the base flood elevations (BFEs) for SJCD 6100
increased in some areas and decreased in other areas, and the width of the Special Flood Hazard Area
(SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the base flood, increased. The FIRM was also revised to
incorporate changes in the corporate limit boundaries between the City of Littleton, the Town of Columbine
Valley, and the unincorporated areas of Arapahoe County. All property owners affected by the BFE
increase were notified of the impact of this project. The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated
copies of FIRM Panel(s) 08005C0435 J and Profile Panel(s) 187P and 188P. This Letter of Map Revision
(LOMR) hereby revises the above-referenced panel(s) of the effective FIRM and the affected portions of
the FIS report, both dated August 16, 1995.

Because this revision request also affects the City of Littleton and the Town of Columbine Valley, separate
LOMRs for those communities were issued on the same date as this LOMR.

The modifications are effective as of the date shown above. The map panel(s) as listed above and as
modified by this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your community.
