<br />Jacques (Jack) Abadie, III, CPCM, was confirmed as the Chief Procurement <br />Officer of the District of Columbia Government in July 2001. <br /> <br />Mr. Abadie holds an MBA from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, CA, a BS <br />in Economics from Weidner University in Chester, PA, and is a Certified <br />Professional Contracts Manager. <br /> <br />Prior to joining the District Government in 1999 as the Director of Mission <br />Support in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Abadie completed a 20- <br />year tour as an officer in the United States Army. While on active duty, Mr. <br />Abadie held numerous contracting positions, including international tours of duty <br />as a contract officer, and his last tour of duty was as the Director of Contracting <br />at Fort Sill, OK. Joining the private sector in 1987, Mr. Abadie was a senior <br />contract administrator and senior contract manager for both CACI, Inc. and <br />Computer Sciences Corporation in Maryland. <br /> <br />Mr. Abadie has extensive experience in high-tech contracts and supply/service <br />contracts. He has strategically managed and executed all contract types <br />including incentive, performance based, ID/IO, FMS and GWACs. Mr. Abadie <br />has a strong background in Government contract regulatory systems. In <br />addition, Mr. Abadie designed basic contracting productivity software for major <br />enhancements to the Standard Army Automated Contracting System <br />(SAACONS) and taught a course on the impacts of automation enhancements <br />on management. <br /> <br />Mr. Abadie has extensive teaching experience at the college level and is a guest- <br />speaker at seminars, conferences and professional association functions. <br />
