No. 162 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 state Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />May 7, 1980 <br />R E 2 0 L Q T I 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of <br />Firestone,Colorado," which includes floodplain information and <br />data fOr the Tri-Area Drainageway, dated June, 1979, has been . <br />prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc., under contract with the. <br />Federal Insurance Adrninistl;ation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Firestone has requested the Colorado <br />Water conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations fOr land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water conservation BOard; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS,Section 37-60-106(1) (c)~ Colorado Revised statutes <br />1973,' directs .the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vationBoard in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, <br />this 7th day of May, 1980, that it does hereby designate and approve <br />as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a <br />100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface elevations <br />and profiles in said report; and <br />
