The Flood Insurance Study (FrS) contains detailed floodplain information for
Dry Creek, Spring Creek:md the Cache la P.:>udre River. The 1984 FIS revised the
previously designated FIS dated January 1919, specifically some of the floodplain
information for Dry Creek and the Cache la Poudre River.

We realize that the most recent FIS for the City of Fort Collins, dated March 18, 1996,
has already been designated and approved by the Colorado Water Conservation Board.
We also realize that the 1996 FIS supercede~ the 1984 FrS. We are making our request in
order to assure that all past and present floodplain information for the City of Fort Collins
comply with state statutory requirements

We would like for CWCB staff to review the 1984 FIS for designation and approval at
the CWCB's regular meeting scheduled for M.ay 11 - 12, 1998. We would also like for
CWCB staff to compare the information in tile 1984 FIS and in the 1996 FlS to identify
all differences in floodplain information. We request that the CWCB designation action
take any differences in floodplain information between the two studies into account.

Please call me at 970-224-6036 if you have questions about our request for designation
and approval.

Sincerely,

'1~ 1.fU~

Marsha M.
