Army Corps of Engineers completed a floodplain information <br />report entitled "Flood Hazard Information, Gunnison and Uncompahgre Rivers, Delta and <br />Delta County, Colorado, dated February 1980; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested by the City of <br />Delta and Delta County, Colorado, by Resolution No. 168, adopted on December 12, 1980, <br />approved and designated the floodplains described in said report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Delta County, Colorado <br />Unincorporated Areas" was prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency on <br />September 1983; and <br /> <br />e WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested by Delta County, <br />Colorado, by Resolution No. 222, adopted on November 3, 1983, approved and designated <br />the floodplain described in said reports; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled "flood Insurance Study, Delta County, Colorado <br />Unincorporated Areas," dated August 19, 1991 has been prepared by the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report revises, on the basis of a new hydraulic analysis, the <br />previously prepared Flood Insurance Study, dated September 1983, and the U.S. Army <br />Corps of Engineers Flood Hazard Infonnation Report, dated February 1980, for the <br />Gunnison River beginning at the U.S. Highway 50 bridge and extending upstream for a <br />distance of approximately 1.8 miles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Delta County, Colorado has <br />requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the detailed <br />floodplain information set forth in the aforesaid new report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(C), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages <br />therefrom; and <br /> <br />e <br />
