GEORGESLOVENSKY

Page 4

Project Engineer - Northridge Tributary to Dad Clark Gulch Channel Stabilization Project
(Highlands Ranch Metropolitan Districts). Conceptual study of alternatives, final design and
CMS of three grouted-boulder drop structures. Channel stability problems were attributed to
watershed urbanization which had created a permanent base flow and significantly increased
peak discharges. Public safety and aesthetics were key concerns due to the presence of a
nearby elementary school and surrounding residential development. Technical specifications
were developed and design drawings were produced using the MicroStation CAD software
package.

Water Resources

City of Colorado Springs Raw Water Collection System Analysis. Gage records and
published analyses of tree-ring data were used to assess the appropriateness of the 1966-1995
period of historical record as a basis for analysis of long-term system yield and storage
requirements.

Project Engineer - Colorado Springs Utilities Raw Water Collection System Fluoride
Modeling. An existing MODSIM model of the CSU raw water collection system was utilized
to assess the effectiveness of various raw water blending schemes intended to reduce fluoride
levels at the Mesa Water Treatment Plant.

Water Quality

Las Vegas Valley NPDES Municipal Stormwater Discharge Permit (Clarke County Regional
Flood Control District). Analysis of rainfall, wet and dry weather channel flows, and water
quality data in support of the Las Vegas Valley NPDES municipal stormwater permit for the
years 1994-98.

Project Engineer - Lake Las Vegas Salinity Model (Transcontinental Properties). A database
and calibrated predictive model for lake salinity was developed using Excel and Visual Basic.
The model included a graphical user interface with utilities to view a schematic of lake
inflows and outflows, view and update the historical database with new data, make
predictions, view graphical and tabular output, view calibration results, lake rating curve data
and model documentation.

Project Engineer - Las Vegas Valley Pollutant Load Model. An ArcView GIS based pollutant
loading model of the Las Vegas Valley was developed utilizing the Simple Method to
compute runoff and pollutant loads. Historical rain gage data was utilized as input to the
model. Runoff and pollutant loading coefficients were calibrated using monitoring data.
Pollutant loads were computed for each watershed and the various landuse types.

I'i'n
rVlOi\rv.:;c'r"IEI~Y lr,rAfSf)flJ \;~J~l
"loM!,.q(
