STEVE LOWRY <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />an opinion of probable construction cost used in presentation to the potential purchaser of the <br />project. <br /> <br />Project Manager for design of SOOO feet of a replacement 30-inch raw water transmission line <br />for the City of Arvada, Colorado. The existing line, a prestressed non-cylinder concrete pipe, <br />was believed to be in need of replacement based on earlier corrosion studies. As part of the <br />design for replacement, field studies were perfomled that showed the line was in better <br />condition than anticipated. The City opted to avoid replacement, at a capital savings of <br />approximately $IM. The preliminary design of the replacement line was completed, <br />including surveying, development of design criteria and preparation of drawings and <br />specifications. <br /> <br />Project Manager for a study of water-supply altematives for the City of Fort Morgan, <br />Colorado. Mr. Lowry assisted the City in planning a 40-mile extension of the Northem <br />Colorado Water Conservancy District's water supplies via a major raw-water delivery <br />pipeline to the City. Altematives for additional ground-water development, reverse osmosis <br />treatment, and utilization of Lower South Platte water supplies were considered. The <br />preferred altemative included a 130 AF raw water reservoir, a 7 mgd treatment plant, 40 <br />miles of 36-inch diameter raw water line, 12 miles of 33-inch diameter treated water line and <br />4.5 mg of treated water storage. The project also induded review of state, local, and federal <br />permitting requirements The water supply altemative studies were performed in an <br />environment of considerable public interest in the development of water supplies and the <br />economic impacts. He assisted the City in preparing applications for Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board and Farmer's Home Administration funding of this $40M project. <br /> <br />Project Manager for the General Mail Facility, Denver, Colorado. Mr. Lowry managed <br />preparation of a site development package including paving, earthwork, and utilities for a <br />$65 million U.S. Postal Service facility. Utilities included 5,000 feet of 12-inch waterline, <br />2,000 feet of S-inch sanitary sewer, 2,500 feet of up to 36-inch storm sewer and an 11/ AF <br />retention pond. Design included 6-inch and S..inch thick concrete paving for 35 acres of <br />parking roads and maneuvering areas. Mr. Lowry supervised earthwork program involving <br />IS0,000 cubic yards of material. He managed a boundary survey of the site and development <br />of site topographic mapping using aerial photogrammetry. He coordinated utility work with <br />Denver agencies. At the time of construction, this was the largest commercial concrete <br />parking area in the State. <br /> <br />Dams and Water Supply Reservoirs, Irrigation <br /> <br />Project Manager for design of the Towaoc Canal Reach 3 and Towaoc Laterals, as part of the <br />USBR's Dolores Project near Cortez, Colorado. Mr. Lowry managed the design of 19 miles <br />of canals and 31 miles of pipe laterals. The alignment traversed previously undisturbed land <br />and required careful handling of topsoil and a comprehensive revegetation program in order <br />to mitigate the impacts of heavy construction equipment. The project included design of <br />seven siphons totalling 3 miles in length, four road crossings, three checks, 54 farm <br />deliveries, three turnouts, a 4S-inch diameter pipe chute 16,600-feet long, an energy <br />dissipater for 326 feet of head, two bridges and 45 cross drainage structures to handle up to <br /> <br />I'M)NTGmll',W IIIATSor, <fD) <br />
