Morgan County-Wa5hington County, Colorado" dated May 1977 has <br />been prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report includes approximate floodplain information for those portions of the <br />South Platte River within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Morgan, as they were in May 1977; <br />ana <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Fort Morgan, Colorado, has requested the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board to designate and approve the floodplains set forth in said report; and <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(l)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado Water <br />.:Onservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood dllmllges therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provid~ that <br />legislative bodies of local jmisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />storm or flQOdwater runoff channel or basin only aftef designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve storm of floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local jmisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the information in the report dated May 1977 meets all of the requirements for <br />approximate information listed under the Board's "Rules and Regulations for the Designation and <br />Approval of Floodplains and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1); <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board in regular <br />meeting assembled in Northglenn, Colorado, this Z5th day of January, 1995, that it does hereby <br />designate and approve as approximate floodplain information the 100-year floodplains as described in <br />said report, dated May 1977; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Board is directed to send a certified <br />~opy of this resolution to the City of Fort Morgan; the Board of County Commissioners of Morgan <br />e ":ounty; the Colorado Office of Emergency Management; and the Federal Emergency Management <br />Agency. <br />
