No. 135 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 sherman street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />March 14, 1979 <br /> <br />R E ~ 0 L Q T ION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town <br />of Milliken, Colorado," which includes floodplain information and <br />data for the Little Thompson River, dated February, 1979, has been <br />prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc., under contract with the Federal <br />Insurance Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Milliken has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid. report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, ColoLado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning ~egulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runOff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the colorado Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-~06(ll (cl, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Coloracio Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approvestorrn or flOodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and apprOve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (in~ermediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular mee~ing assemcled in Denver, Colorado, <br />this 14th day of March, 1979, tha~ it does hereby designate and <br />approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated <br />by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface elevations <br />and prOfiles in said report; and <br />
