R E ~ 0 L Q T ION

WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town
of Milliken, Colorado," which includes floodplain information and
data for the Little Thompson River, dated February, 1979, has been
prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc., under contract with the Federal
Insurance Administration; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels
or basins of the study area; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Milliken has requested the Colorado
Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain
areas as set forth in the aforesaid. report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, ColoLado
Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local
jurisdictions may provide zoning ~egulations for land uses on or
along any storm or floodwater runOff channel or basin only after
designation and approval by the colorado Water Conservation Board;
and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-~06(ll (cl, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, directs the Coloracio Water Conservation Board to
designate and approvestorrn or flOodwater runoff channels or basins
and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of
local jurisdictions; and

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report
and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board
that the Board designate and apprOve as floodplain areas those areas
inundated by a 100-year flood (in~ermediate regional flood) as
described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said
report;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water
Conservation Board in regular mee~ing assemcled in Denver, Colorado,
this 14th day of March, 1979, tha~ it does hereby designate and
approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated
by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface elevations
and prOfiles in said report; and
