Both creeks
flow east-southeast through the northwestern comer of Boulder. They both cross North
Broadway near the point where it meets US Highway 36. The two floodplains were mapped by
MSM-Greiner as part of the 1985 FEMA restudy for Boulder. As far as I can tell, MSM-Greiner
used the same information that Greenhorne & O'Mara published for the 1987 UD&FCD FHAD.
City staff and citizens have noted some "inconsistencies" in the floodplain delineations as new
development has been proposed and analyzed after 1987. In part because of those
"inconsistencies", Urban Drainage and the city hired Love & Associates to study Fourmile
Canyon Creek and Boyle to study Wonderland Creek. Citizen concerns about "where the
floodplain really is" and what might be done about the floodplain prompted the city to form this
independent committee. The job of the committee is to review the work of the two consultants
(who are already reviewing each other's work) and provide comments and recommendations to
the city and Urban Drainage.

Medin!!: of 1/18/00
We met yesterday to gain an understanding of the issues involved in the two Master Plan efforts.
We learned the following hydrological facts:

STREAM LOCATION D.A.
